The Conservative-led council are delivering a team of local public protection officers across the City to help address illegal and nuisance parking, littering, fly tipping and dog mess. They will also help tackle low level crime and anti-social behaviour.
Conservative council leader, Christopher Poulter said, “The introduction of this much requested resource at a local level is opposed by Labour in Derby. Residents have asked us for action on local issues such as litter, flying tipping, parking issues and dog fouling – across all wards and not just Normanton and Arboretum. It just goes to show how out of touch Labour are with the residents of this City.”
Residents will see the officers start their work in the community, in every area of Derby, during the Autumn.
